Jesus Christ the Saviour is a spectacular Russian Icon. Christ delivers a blessing and holds a book of Gospels open to St. John 13:31-38 . "Zapoved novuju daju vam, da ljubite drug druga...” Hand painted with egg tempera. Gesso on wood panel. The painting is very high quality. Overlaid with gorgeous silver oklad. Marked with "84" (Russian Imperial Silver Standard), maker's mark, “Moscow. 1893. L.O. (Lev Oleks)”. Decorated with engraving (all done by hands). Perfect condition. Authenticity guaranteed.
