7. St. Prince Vladimir

Wood (cypress), lewkas, tempera.
Size: 31,5x26,5 x 2,5 cm.



The image represents the first Russian Duke Vladimir who baptized Russia in ancient year 988.

After his death the church made him a saint. This is an outstanding museum quality piece, for those who really have enough taste and eye for the best icons of the beginning of 20th century. The icon is hand painted in kovcheg on a cypress wooden board. Only high quality icons, for rich people, were made of such expensive by that time wood.

Hand painted. It is in very good condition.

This icon has collection significance.
